This is what we’re all in interested in. What are we getting for the money and is it worth it?
Box Contents:
- Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Sun-kissed Glow Bronzer (Retail $56) – Large amount of product, but came in the wrong shade for me. I can gift it though.
- Missy by Rosie Jane (Retail $45) – I was so excited this came in my box! I like Rosie more, but Missy is still very good.
- Grande Cosmetics MD Lash Enhancing Serum (Retail $68) – I have minimal interest in this product. A lot of these serums only work if you continue using them forever and I have no desire to spend this just on my eyelashes until I die. I’ll give it a whirl and see if I change my mind.
- Bag Balm Moisturizing Lip Balm (Retail $5.99) – They normally make good products at an affordable price. This is something I can tuck in my purse and use whenever I need.
- Frudia Green Grape Pore Control Cream (Retail $24) – This appears to be a better moisturizer than the one they sent last month (Elemis) and the retail price for 2 ounces is significantly less. It feels light on the skin and smells decent. I’d consider buying this in the future!
- Kerastase Soin Acide Chroma Gloss (Sample) – I don’t color my hair, so this isn’t something that I need. I’ll use the sample to see if makes hair glossy and less frizzy like it claims. At over $40 a bottle, I think this is a pretty expensive conditioner replacement.
The contents of the box are definitely higher than the $25/mo price for the Allure Beauty Box. Part of why I get the box is for treat items I wouldn’t normally be able to purchase.
Final Thoughts
This was the first box where Allure offered me customization so we could pick our own bronzer color. The only options were Medium, Tan and Dark. In the summer, I’m pale. After bundling up all winter, I resemble a ghost, so the bronzer was way too dark!
While I didn’t love every item in the box, it was worth getting. Of course, I’d like it more if the bronzer was the right shade for me, but I’m sure a friend will gladly take it off my hands.
It’s a fantastic value and sometimes finding what doesn’t work for you is just as important as finding a new favorite. This month’s little luxuries were a hit overall and I’m looking forward to my May Box.
