We’ve looked at Ipsy as a Subscription Service here, but let’s take a deeper look at the July boxes.
July 2024 GlamBag
GlamBag Contents:
- Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Blonzer (Retail $28) – This is a great cream blush! The mini will be going in my travel bag.
-
Pistaché Skincare Pistachio Biscotti Perfume (Retail $46) – It’s very sweet and at first leans heavily toward the almond side. With a little time, the vanilla comes though and it smells better than it did fresh out of the bottle. I wouldn’t buy this one, but it’s not bad.
- Frank Body Glycolic Scrub (Retail $21.95) – This is gritty and exfoliating, but it smells almost medicinal. I don’t have the skin concerns that this addresses to speak to results. I’m interested in trying their Coffee Scrub now.
- Eight Saints Up the Anti Night Cream (Retail $44) – With all the rave reviews online, I’m excited to see if there are long term results. It’s a thick and soaks in quickly, but if I were to get a full sized one, I’d probably opt for the gel. Personal preference!
- Catano Beauty Lip Glaze (Retail $14) – It’s a nice lip gloss that would look great on everyone.
This month’s bag was larger and drawstring, so I’m going to save it as wrapping for a future birthday or Christmas gift. For $16, this was a pretty good buy!
BoxyCharm Contents:
- Laura Geller’s Wildflower Wishes (Retail $45) – This is my favorite palette that I have received in any subscription box so far. It’s pigmented, blends well, and colors I can use daily! Buyer Beware: it appears to be a re-release of Desert Dreams with a new name.
- Refreshments Velvety Body Cream in Ginger Splash (Retail $14) – This is from Ipsy’s in-house line. It has a light, spicy scent and absorbs quickly. I wouldn’t have chosen this scent for myself, so I’m glad they sent it to me.
- Stone Street Soaphouse Body Scrub (Retail $24) – It’s nicely exfoliating and I like the product, but I don’t like the smell. Geranium is not my favorite scent so if I were to buy this, I would want a new scent option.
- Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen with SPF 36 (Retail $18) – My ghost-like complexion burns easily and my current moisturizer is only SPF 15, so it was perfect timing for me! They also have an SPF 45 version that I’m going to buy before my next sunny getaway trip.
- Tula Skincare Brightening Serum Skin Tint with SPF 30 (Retail $42) – I got light, neutral undertones and it looked too dark for me straight out of the bottle. It actually is perfect on my face, has decent coverage, and feels so light I can forget it’s there!
This was $32 including the handling fee and was worth far more than I paid.
July 2024 Add-ons
I got a few add-ons again, but they were only $3.50 each. What a steal!
- This is not a Perfume by Juliette has a Gun (Retail $34) – I was so excited to try this and a little let down. It smells soapy to me, so it’s not something I will be reaching for often.
- Kiss & Smink Lip Aura in Dahlia (Retail $22) – I received Peony in a prior box and wanted to have another color to choose from.
Final Thoughts
I loved this month! The BoxyCharm box was amazing and I will use everything in it this summer. The GlamBag gave me some great options for my trips this summer and fall. This is one of the first months where I think I would buy many of the products in the future.
