I’m always on the lookout for up-and-coming and hidden gem subscription boxes. Supporting small businesses is important to me so I took a leap of faith and ordered another beauty box.
About Signature Gifts by Dorrie
This little Etsy store has been around since 2022 and offers a variety of boxes ranging from corporate gifts to spa to birthday gift boxes based on Zodiac signs.
I selected a beauty box so it would be comparable to the other boxes that I receive. They also offer a designer brand box, but that is a newer option and often sold out.
Pricing
For three months, it was $45 with free shipping. This works out to $15/box. At this price point, I was expecting something pretty small, like 3-5 items. Let’s take a look at what I got.
There are a lot of items, so if I linked to every pencil this post would be 12 pages long. I’ll just link to the big items
- Kara Beauty Pro12 The Essentials – I love that this has a good selection of neutral colors
- Kara Beauty Cleanse It Off – Often sold out, so it’s nice to get to try this!
- Mario Badescu Facial Spray – Nice face and body spray. It also can be used on your pillow case for a little aromatherapy as you drift off at night.
- Facetory Sheet Masks – I really enjoyed this one and I’d love to get their variety pack next.
There was also an eyelash curler, mascara, fake nails, a variety of lip glosses, lip pencils, and eye pencils.
Second Box
Again, there are tons of items here, so we’ll just hit the highlights below:
- LA Colors Color Block Eyeshadow Palette in Rose – I like that it tells you where to use each color and that it’s pretty neutral without being boring.
- Ruby May Loha Eyeshadow Palette in Rome – A little bold, but it’s a usable and cohesive palette.
- 24k Fold Undereye Patches – I love sheet masks and eye masks and these were no exception! Pop them in the fridge first for a bit before using them to help reduce puffiness more.
- Zoya Lipstick – This alone is almost the entire cost of the box. Some reviews complained about the longevity, but I use Urban Decay’s primer pencil and it helps even drugstore lipstick last longer.
There was also a pocket sized mirror, some brushes, variety of lip products, eye masks, a blush and bronzer palette, and a couple scrunchies.
Third Box
Again, we’ll just showcase the bigger items below:
- Trendy Beauty Naturally Nude Palette – Like the name implies, more natural and neutral shades that should be flattering for most people. I couldn’t find the exact one, but the link appears to be the same shades
- Clinque Clarifying Lotion – What a wonderful (and high value) item to receive! It’s gentle and refreshing!
- Anastasia Brow Kit – I wasn’t expecting a designer brand! I don’t really do anything with my brows since they are naturally on the bolder side, but this is a great find!
- Anastasia Matte Lipstick – This costs more than the entire box did! I would have preferred a different shade, since blush brown isn’t great for me, but that’s the risk you take with these boxes.
I got another pocket sized mirror, variety of lip products, eye masks, and cozy socks.
Pros & Cons Signature Gifts by Dorrie
What I love
- Great value with good quality products (designer brands available as an option)
- Well thought out box with a fairly complete look in each box
- A mix of neutrals and bolder options
- Beautiful, giftable packaging. Each one came in a nice box with a pretty bow and looked really professional.
- Offers some customization if you contact them
- Free Shipping
The Less Desirable
- A few shades of the lip colors or pencils in the “grab bag” weren’t my favorite
- I got a duplicate mirror (but I can put one in each purse so it didn’t really matter)
Verdict
I loved this box and it was so exciting to get it in the mail each month. The packaging was beautiful and the contents were a fabulous mix of beauty and makeup products.
After I got the first box, there was so much value packed into it I thought all three boxes had arrived at once! My second and third boxes showed up right on schedule.
This is extremely giftable and the seller is also willing to work with customers to tweak their boxes a little. I chose not to just to see what I could get and I would buy this again in the future.
If you want to support a small business, this is a fantastic choice! I secretly think this is a better buy than BirchBox. If you’re sold, you can purchase here.
I really want to try the spa box next!
Alternatives
Ipsy – The Glam Bag and BoxyCharm are the most comparable in content, although there are fewer items in the boxes. It’s extremely customizable and you can choose if you want to receive more makeup, skincare, or both in your monthly delivery.
Allure – One of my favorite beauty boxes that sends out a variety of high end beauty products. While it is also fewer items, the value of each box is normally $150+.

They have one-time boxes, too!
Happy Picks by Mia has some one-time boxes that are mostly make-up.
